Americans for Prosperity Applauds Kentucky Supreme Court Ruling Regarding Executive Powers
Frankfort, KY — Americans for Prosperity-Kentucky (AFP-KY) today applauded the Kentucky Supreme Court’s unanimous decision to let stand laws passed earlier this year limiting executive powers. The ruling will send an injunction from March back to the Franklin District Court to be dissolved.
AFP-KY State Director Mike Conway released the following statement:
“Separation of powers is the key to our form of governance. The Supreme Court decision affirms that our Governor and the General Assembly have a coequal role in governing. This a big step toward preventing executive overreach and ensuring that our elected leaders work together, especially during such difficult times.”
