AFP-Wyoming Calls on Governor to Pass ‘REINS’ Bill

Feb 7, 2025 by AFP

CHEYENNE, WY – Today, Americans for Prosperity-Wyoming (AFP-WY) celebrated the state Senate’s passage of a major regulatory reform to increase accountability and transparency in the executive branch and called on Governor Mark Gordon to sign it into law.

Modeled after the federal Regulations in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, Senate File 127 will allow the legislature to vote on regulations with significant economic impact. If passed, this bill will help restore the balance of power in Wyoming so that laws are made by lawmakers, not bureaucrats.

AFP-WY State Director, Tyler Lindholm, gave the following statement:

“If Wyoming is going to become the freest state in the nation, we can’t have unelected bureaucrats legislating by decree. We urge Governor Gordon to take this golden opportunity to restore limited government and reduce our state’s regulatory burden.”

Background:

This year, AFP is fighting to pass REINS-style legislation in 22 states by unleashing its grassroots army to inform citizens in key regions, deploying targeted digital ads and mail campaigns, and connecting constituents with their elected representatives to demand regulatory reform.
