CHEYENNE, WY – Americans for Prosperity-Wyoming (AFP-WY) today announced nine new endorsements of candidates for the state legislature – including seven non-incumbents – ahead of the Wyoming primary election on August 18.
Tyler Lindholm, AFP-WY state director, gave the following statement:
“Wyoming can’t afford more of the status quo in Cheyenne. That’s why AFP-WY is supporting a record number of non-incumbents and political outsiders this year. These proven leaders and newcomers will work quickly to lower the cost of living, increase our energy production and cultivate our natural resources.
“Complacency and infighting in the state legislature threatens to hold Wyoming back from its full potential. AFP-WY and our army of grassroots activists will be connecting with thousands of voters across the state to build support for these outstanding candidates who will keep Wyoming on the path to prosperity.”
Endorsed candidates:
Sen. Taft Love (SD-06) Sen. Love is a vital voice in the state Senate after serving just one year in office, in which he championed legislation to fast-track residential development permits and an innovative portable healthcare benefits bill. AFP-WY is confident he’ll be a crucial partner in the Senate for years to come.
Melissa Butcher (SD-21) Butcher is a small business owner and cornerstone of her community who will be a strong coalition-builder in the Senate on commonsense, kitchen-table policy issues to lower the cost of doing business and raising a family in Wyoming.
Dwayne Dillinger (SD-23) Dwayne Dillinger, the Executive Director of Campbell County Parks and Recreation, is eager to get to work in Cheyenne on regulatory reforms like occupational licensing that stifle entrepreneurship and economic growth. His 30 years of public service and deep community ties in Campbell County make him an ideal newcomer to the Wyoming Senate.
Troy Claycomb (HD-01) As a longtime educator and former school principal, Claycomb will be a respected voice on education issues in the House. He is also a small business owner who understands the importance of deregulation in keeping businesses from leaving Wyoming.
Dan McIntosh (HD-11) McIntosh is an economics professor and Director of the Wyoming Center for Business and Economic Analysis who will apply his deep knowledge of free market principles to crafting transformational tax, regulatory and spending reforms.
Doug Moore (HD-31) Moore is a professional in the energy industry who has experienced firsthand the burdens of its heavy regulations. He will be able to articulate the reforms needed to get government out of the way and allow the energy industry to grow and prosper.
Rep. Julie Jarvis (HD-57) After serving just one term in the House, Rep. Jarvis has already become an AFP policy champion through her consistent support for education freedom, free speech, deregulation, and healthcare reform. She is a principled conservative with proven results who sets a strong example for incoming freshman legislators.
Peter Boyer (HD-58) As Mayor of Bar Nunn, Peter Boyer has consistently backed common-sense policies to grow economic policies. His previous career in the oil and gas industry and highly effective work on municipal issues as mayor will make him a crucial legislative partner for AFP-WY in the House.
Tony Niemiec (HD-60) Niemiec, who previously served HD-60 from 2023-2024, was a consistent leader on numerous regulatory reform bills supported by AFP-WY. His background in law enforcement and passion for criminal justice will be vital to AFP-WY’s efforts to pass public safety and judicial selection reforms.
