AFP-WV Opens New Charleston Office in Charleston-Gazette Mail Building
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Americans for Prosperity-West Virginia (AFP-WV) announced the opening of a brand-new headquarters in Charleston, West Virginia. The chapter has moved from their quarrier street location to the Charleston-Gazette Mail building (1001 Virginia St E, Suite 200) located in downtown Charleston. The historic space, which was the former newsroom of the Charleston Daily Mail, will serve as West Virginia’s central hub for center-right grassroots activists, principled policymakers, and all Charleston-based AFP-WV staff.
“After a host of historic electoral victories, AFP-WV decided to level up our headquarters to better position our staff and activists for the huge policy opportunities ahead. Our new location is more centrally located which will allow our activists to easily get involved in passing historic policies and holding lawmakers accountable. We encourage folks that support expanding freedom and opportunity for all West Virginians to stop on by the new space,” said State Director Jason Huffman.
Since 2015, AFP-WV has been instrumental in adopting some of the most vital pieces of legislation in state history, including the largest tax cut in state history and the Hope Scholarship program. The chapter accomplished these big wins through its premier grassroots programs — ensuring all West Virginian’s voices are heard in the statehouse. AFP-WV also was the first organization to endorse and support incoming West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey.
“There is a lot of significance in taking over such a historic space that was once occupied by the conservative paper in Charleston. We hope to live up to their high standard by continuing to preach for principles that will make West Virginia a better place to live, work and raise a family. We appreciate HD Media President, Doug Skaff, for helping make our vision for a new headquarters for all things center-right policy a reality,” Huffman said.
