AFP-Wisconsin Thanks Legislators for Passing Project Labor Agreement Neutrality Bill

Today, the Wisconsin State Senate Passed SB 3 which seeks to bring fairness to public works contracting.

MADISON – This afternoon the Wisconsin State Senate passed SB 3, a project labor agreement neutrality reform bill. Under the bill, governmental units will no longer be able to mandate that a business enter a project labor agreement (PLA) as a condition of bidding on a public works project.

Eric Bott, state director for Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin issued the following statement:

“We applaud the Wisconsin State Senate for working to make project labor agreement neutrality a reality in Wisconsin. Special recognition is deserved for Representatives Hutton and Kitchens and Senators Vukmir and Olsen for authoring this legislation. This bill is all about giving a fair shot at government work to the majority of Wisconsin construction workers that don’t want to be in a union. This legislation will help protect thousands of Wisconsin workers, level the playing field for small businesses, lower the burden on taxpayers, and reduce opportunities for cronyism. We thank the state legislature for their swift action on this important issue.”
