RICHMOND, Va. – Americans for Prosperity – Virginia (AFP-VA) issued the following statement today after Gov. Northam signed into law HB5046 and SB5080, a set of telemedicine extension bills. This legislation is a continuation of the work the grassroots group has done advocating for health care reforms over the past three years to increase access to quality care and bring greater flexibility to the system.
AFP-VA Legislative Liaison Ben Knotts issued the following statement:
“Removing these barriers to health care will allow for Virginians to seek care from their medical providers from anywhere in the Commonwealth. Medical services can now be delivered in person, over the phone or through the internet, transforming the screening and treatment process. These innovations will address immediate challenges while leaving us stronger in the long term. We applaud both Delegate Adams and Senator Barker for carrying this legislation and the unanimous support of the General Assembly.”
