AFP-TX Applauds House ESA Bill Introduction
AUSTIN, TX – Americans for Prosperity-Texas (AFP-TX) celebrated the introduction of Education Savings Account (ESA) legislation in the state House today, bringing Texas one step closer to enacting the largest school choice program in American history.
AFP-TX commends Governor Greg Abbott, House Speaker Dustin Burrows, and the bill’s sponsors for their tireless commitment to Texas students and looks forward to working with the House Education Committee to make universal school choice a reality in the Lone Star State this year.

“Texas families delivered a clear mandate for passing universal school choice in the November elections, and the Texas legislature listened. Thanks to Speaker Burrows, this monumental legislation will create an education ecosystem where every kind of student and school can thrive.
“We’re especially glad to see the bill’s responsible funding from the state budget surplus and its provision for low-income and disabled students, who will get the first tickets to schools that can meet their needs.
