AUSTIN, TX – Americans for Prosperity-Texas (AFP-TX) and its sister organization The LIBRE Initiative-Texas unveiled a new website today for their new multi-year grassroots recruitment and advocacy push, “Freedom is Bigger in Texas,” featuring the organizations’ new agenda for the 2025 legislative session.
The campaign aims to recruit over 100,000 new activists or “ambassadors for Texas” to fight for Texas values and get 10,000 signatures in support of each of AFP-TX’s seven policy priorities: border security, the economy, education freedom, energy production, healthcare accessibility, housing reform, and regulatory reform.
Genevieve Collins, State Director for AFP-TX, gave the following statement:
“Next year, we have an incredible opportunity to help expand freedom, opportunity and prosperity across the Lone Star State during the legislative session. By building consensus in these key policy areas, we’re going to give all Texans more of what they want: more Texas.
“Together, as the state’s largest grassroots community, AFP and LIBRE will grow our army of activists into the nation’s largest and rally them behind this movement to build a better Texas and a more perfect Union.”
Jorge Martinez, Strategic Director for The LIBRE Initiative-Texas, issued the following statement:
“The Latino community knows that freedom is indeed bigger in Texas. It’s why Latinos are choosing to buy a home, start a family and open a business here in record numbers.
But they also know that challenges remain, which is why they are excited to roll up their sleeves and join our growing army of volunteers and activists to fight for freedom-oriented solutions to Texas’ biggest issues.
“This campaign is our way on building on the freedoms that make our state a beacon of liberty for the rest of the country to follow.”
Background: Since its soft-launch in May, AFP-TX and LIBRE-TX have hosted numerous “Freedom is Bigger in Texas” events across the state, including energy policy roundtables with U.S. Senator Ted Cruz and U.S. Representative August Pfluger.
The campaign will include hundreds more events across the state that will inspire Texans from all backgrounds to volunteer and fight for freedom in their own communities.
News of the launch first appeared here in The Texas Tribune’s newsletter “The Blast.”
