Jun 26, 2019 by AFP

SIOUX FALLS, SD—Americans for Prosperity-South Dakota (AFP-SD) today participated in the South Dakota Board of Regents’ hearing on Intellectual Diversity in Higher Education. AFP-SD has provided outspoken support for free expression on South Dakota’s college campuses.

AFP-SD State Director Don Haggar issued the following statement:

“Today’s hearing provided the perfect opportunity to share our activists’ views on the promotion of free expression on South Dakota’s campuses. The free exchange of ideas leads to a thoughtful and diverse society, and we hope that the Board of Regents keeps that at the forefront of their minds while determining policies.”

Background:

AFP-SD was an active voice during this year’s legislative session on the topic of free expression, issuing several statements.

Former AFP-SD Deputy State Director also applauded the South Dakota Board of Regents efforts to support free expression on campuses in December through an op-ed in the Rapid City Journal: Regents move to protect free speech.
