AFP on Governor Gianforte’s COVID Response Directives
HELENA, Montana – Americans for Prosperity-Montana released the following statement following Governor Gianforte’s COVID-19 response directives.
AFP-MT State Director David Herbst:
“As we’ve said since the beginning of the pandemic, we don’t have to choose between blanket shut downs and pre-COVID ways of operating. We can protect public health while allowing individuals and businesses to adapt and continue to provide vital goods and services.
“Shortening the pandemic and expediting economic recovery are not mutually exclusive. We can do both and we appreciate the Governor taking steps to do just that. We encourage Governor Gianforte to continue to move away from overly-prescriptive top down mandates and toward allowing Montanans to implement solutions that make sense for their individual circumstances and communities.”
