AFP-OH Welcomes Vice President JD Vance to Ohio, Highlights Progress on Border Security, Affordability, and Energy

Toledo, OH – Today, Americans for Prosperity–Ohio (AFP-OH) welcomed Vice President JD Vance back to Ohio as the administration continues advancing policies Ohioans demanded in 2024—strong border security, greater affordability for working families, and a more competitive, energy-secure economy.

Donovan O’Neil, State Director for AFP-OH, said:

“Ohioans sent a clear message in 2024 that they wanted real results—secure borders, lower costs, and an economy that works for working families. Vice President Vance’s return to Ohio underscores that this administration is delivering on that mandate.

“On border security, the administration has taken decisive action to end the chaos and restore the rule of law. On affordability, the Working Families Tax Cuts locked in once-in-a-generation tax relief so Ohioans can keep more of what they earn, while President Trump’s push to expand Health Savings Accounts empowers patients—not insurance companies—to make health care decisions.

“And on energy, affordability requires abundance. The administration identified the broken federal permitting system early, and now Congress must act by passing the SPEED and PERMIT Acts—bills already approved by the House that will lower energy costs, create jobs, and strengthen American competitiveness.”

Ohioans in 2024 rejected the status quo in Washington and called for policies that prioritize economic security, public safety, and opportunity. Americans for Prosperity–Ohio continues to support reforms that remove barriers to growth, expand energy supply, and ensure families—not bureaucracies—are put first.
