COLUMBUS, OH – Americans for Prosperity (AFP-OH) applauds the Ohio Senate for passing Substitute House Bill 96. This will deliver both immediate relief and long-term structural reforms that AFP–Ohio has long championed. AFP-OH State Director Donovan O’Neil recently testified in front of the Ohio Senate Finance Committee in support of the bill.
Following AFP-OH’s key vote alert, the State Senate voted to set Ohio on a path to being number one in the nation for economic opportunity by passing Substitute House Bill 96. The bill included an over $5.5 billion reduction in all-funds spending from the executive request and a 2.75% flat rate on personal income tax, which helps alleviate the tax burden on working families.
Yesterday, Americans for Prosperity–Ohio and The LIBRE Initiative brought together dozens of grassroots activists from across the state to rally at the Ohio Statehouse. The “Save Our Salary” Rally highlighted the urgent need for economic relief as Ohio families continue to struggle under the weight of inflation and burdensome state taxes. Activists called on lawmakers to protect paychecks by reducing income taxes and promoting policies that empower workers and entrepreneurs.
