AFP-NJ Urges Senate to Pass Telemedicine Expansion

Mar 19, 2020 by AFP

TRENTON, N.J – Americans for Prosperity-New Jersey (AFP-NJ) today urged the New Jersey Senate to pass A3860, legislation that would help expand telemedicine and improve access to critical health care services for vulnerable New Jersey populations. AFP-NJ key voted the legislation, which has already been passed by the Assembly.

AFP-NJ State Director Tony Howley issued the following statement:

“A3860 would help medical professionals provide critical health care services to patients while limiting the potential spread of COVID-19 that could result from traditional, in-person office visits. While this bill would expand access to much needed care and help reduce the burden on our overwhelmed health care system during this emergency, we urge the legislature to consider permanently expanding these services for the benefit of all New Jerseyans.”

Americans for Prosperity on March 17 issued a guidance memo for state-based reforms that policymakers should adopt to help respond to the spread of COVID-19 and expand access to critical health care services for those who need it. A3860 is in accordance with the recommendations made in the guidance memo.
