CONCORD, NH – Following Governor Sununu’s signing of HB399, a bill that creates a process to expunge past marijuana-related misdemeanor records for possession amounts that are no longer a crime, Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) issued the following statement:

“Today is a great day for thousands of Granite Staters who have been held back from pursuing their dreams due to prior convictions that New Hampshire no longer views as a crime,” said Ross Connolly, AFP-NH Deputy State Director. “We thank the governor for signing this bill and giving individuals with criminal records a better chance to succeed. This is a great first step in making our criminal justice system smarter on crime and we encourage the legislature and governor to continue their work in helping improve public safety and removing barriers to opportunity.”
