AFP-NH Thanks Gov. Sununu for Vetoing Income Tax, Paid Family Leave and Medical Leave Program

CONCORD, N.H. – Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) on Thursday thanked Governor Sununu for vetoing SB1, a bill that would have established a new entitlement paid family leave program paid for by an income tax on New Hampshire workers.

“Establishing a new entitlement paid for by an income tax on Granite State workers destroys our New Hampshire Advantage of no sales or income tax. Compensation and worker benefits are best made between employers and employees, and not by government mandates,” said Greg Moore, AFP-NH State Director. “Governor Sununu made the right decision to veto this mandatory program that would add an expansive program, forcing even higher taxes to pay for it. We thank Governor Sununu for ensuring we don’t stray away from our pro-growth policies that have helped our economy become one of the strongest in the nation.”
