Lawmakers continue to reject fiscal responsibility grassroots group says
MANCHESTER, N.H. – Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) expressed disappointment today after the entire New Hampshire delegation voted for a massive spending bill. The $853 billion bill keeps spending at an unacceptable level for the rest of the year.
“Taxpayers aren’t piggybanks, yet our lawmakers are continuing their reckless spending addiction. Granite Staters expect their elected officials to be good stewards of their taxpayer money, but our delegation is joining Washington’s unrestrained spending that brings us closer to a fiscal crisis and burdens future generations,” said AFP-NH State Director, Greg Moore. “This unaffordable and unsustainable spending must come to an end. We urge our delegation to not only pay lip service to fiscal responsibility, but actually work to get spending under control.”
Background:
AFP is committed to pressing Congress to do better over the long-term through their grassroots effort, Stop Overspending. The group has consistently called on Congress to freeze federal discretionary spending and then begin to fix the underlying overspending problem in all areas of the budget.
