AFP-NH Commends House Criminal Justice Committee for Removing Barriers, Passing HB 1648

CONCORD, NH – Following HB 1648’s passage out of the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee, Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) Deputy Director Ross Connolly issued the following statement:

“Today, Granite Staters are one step closer to having barriers removed that will make our communities safer and enable law enforcement to focus on more serious threats. It’s time to end the failed war on drugs and eliminate the cannabis prohibition that has damaged communities. We urge the House to support this bill and help make our criminal justice system smarter on crime.”

Background:

House Bill 1648 would remove criminal penalties for cannabis possession and allow for limited home grow cultivation for Granite Staters over the age of 21.
