AFP-NC Pans Governor Cooper’s Bloated Budget Preview

Raleigh, N.C. – Americans for Prosperity- North Carolina State Director, Chris McCoy, released the following statement in response to Governor Cooper’s budget preview:

“If Governor Cooper’s budget were a movie, then this preview promises us the same, tired, show of failed policies of the past. The characters who are arguing for higher taxes and corporate cronyism have been written-off before and will be again. Production costs would be sky-high and return on investment would be negligible, at best. We’ve seen the movie and we know how it ends – badly for North Carolina taxpayers.

The pro-growth policies of the last five years have catapulted Tar Heel state from one of the worst business climates in the Southeast, to one of the best. It’s just a shame that Governor Cooper’s budget preview does not reflect the patterns of success set forth by lawmakers in Raleigh.

I encourage all those under the dome to hold fast to the pro-business and pro-growth policies that have made our state so successful.”
