JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Americans for Prosperity – Missouri (AFP-MO) welcomed Duane Lester as its new deputy state director on Monday. Lester will draw on his wealth of experience training grassroots activists and his deep commitment to individual liberty to help AFP-MO share its vision for freedom and prosperity in every corner of Missouri.

“I started my career in grassroots activism right here in Missouri, so I’m thrilled to come full circle and join the state’s premier grassroots organization,” said Duane Lester, AFP-MO Deputy State Director. “Together, we are going to turn Missouri into the freest state in these United States.”

As a former journalist, Lester has seen and documented how government overreach and waste harm everyday Americans. Beginning his journalism career in the U.S. Navy, Lester went on to launch two popular news websites, All American Blogger and The Missouri Torch. He received the first-ever Breitbart Blogger Award from the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity and the Heritage Foundation.

Prior to joining AFP-MO, Lester was the Deputy Director of Staff Training for AFP, and the Director of Issue Education for Americans for Prosperity Foundation with the Grassroots Leadership Academy.

“Duane Lester has been dedicated to the cause of freedom for well over a decade and we look forward to adding his leadership and skills to our efforts,” said AFP-MO State Director Jeremy Cady. “I am certain that Duane will help propel our work to remove government’s barriers in the lives of all Missourians.”

Lester currently lives in Tarkio, Missouri, where he tries to find time to read while raising his nine children.
