JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Americans for Prosperity-Missouri State Director Jeremy Cady released the following statement after voters passed Proposition B, which will raise the state’s minimum wage from $7.85 to $12 an hour over the next five years:
“It’s unfortunate Missourians voted to approve a minimum wage increase that will hamper younger and less-skilled Missourians by pricing them out of the labor market. Instead of forcing employers to pay their workers more, legislators should focus on lowering the cost of living for Missouri families through tax reform as well as removing the barriers that raise the prices of everyday good and services.”
