BATON ROUGE, La. – Americans for Prosperity-Louisiana (AFP-LA) released a statement Saturday ahead of a likely vote by the Senate of the previously brokered and approved $0.45 sales tax increase in the House.
AFP-LA State Director John Kay released the following statement:
“Huey Long had a quote about whether or not Louisianans will like good government when they finally get it – we’re anxious to give it a try. Suffice it to say that today’s vote and the governor’s subsequent signature of this tax hike are an admission of failure on tax reform and represent their broken promise to taxpayers.”
