The digital campaign encourages Kentuckians to vote YES on Amendment 2 to give families choice in educational options
Frankfort, KY — Americans for Prosperity-Kentucky (AFP-KY), in partnership with Kentucky Students First, launched a significant digital campaign in support of November’s Amendment 2. If passed, Amendment 2 will change the constitution to allow the Kentucky legislature to provide for more educational opportunities and parental choice in Kentucky’s education system.
AFP-KY State Director Heather LeMire issued the following statement on the campaign:
“For a long time, Kentuckians have not had fair choice in determining school options for their children. Parents, not the government, will always know what’s best for their kids, and Amendment 2 will give parents more say in their children’s education.
“Our new digital ad campaign represents our steadfast dedication to giving Kentuckians more educational options for their kids. We look forward to voters making the right choice in November to empower parents and give more educational opportunities to students.”
BACKGROUND:
House Bill 2, which creates a voting referendum on non-public school funding, passed the full senate on a third reading in March. Voters will now decide in November whether to amend this bill to give parents more choice in their kids’ education. House Bill 2 was ceremonially signed into law earlier this month.
