AFP: Disappointing Farm Bill Chock-Full of Corporate Welfare

Dec 12, 2018 by AFP

ARLINGTON, Va. – In response to the House passing the 2018 Farm Bill today, Americans for Prosperity Senior Policy Fellow Alison Acosta Winters had this to say:

“The bipartisan support for the corporate welfare and cronyism routinely stuffed into the farm bill is exactly why most Americans feel like Washington rigs the system against them. Not only did Congress fail to take up commonsense reforms to SNAP, it expanded subsidies that disproportionately benefit large, high-income farms that don’t need the help. We are disappointed by Congress’s failure to improve this continually harmful piece of legislation that benefits special interests at the expense of American families.”
