TALLAHASSEE, FL — Americans for Prosperity – Florida (AFP-FL) celebrated the announcement that Florida has the most favorable charter school laws nationwide.
The Center for Education Reform (CER) released their annual Charter School Law Ranking and Scorecard, which showed Florida jumped from #5 to #1. CER credited a new law that allows charter schools to be authorized by sponsors outside school boards, legislation that AFP-FL has worked to pass for years.
AFP-FL State Director Skylar Zander released the following statement:
“Over the last several years, our dedicated activists have helped advance policies that give students and their families more opportunity when it comes to education, and it’s gratifying to see the results of their hard work. We’ll keep pushing forward ideas to ensure all of Florida’s students can learn in the way that works best for their unique needs. ”
Americans for Prosperity-Florida advocates for Educational Opportunity for all of Florida’s students and their families. The grassroots organization believes that Florida should have laws in place to support the unique learning needs of all students, regardless of their ZIP code or family’s income level
