MADISON, WI—Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin (AFP-WI) today released a statement regarding three pivotal votes that Assembly members took to improve access to quality, affordable health care and allow Wisconsin’s criminal justice system to combat the root cause of addiction.
AFP-WI issued key vote alerts on these three legislative items:
AFP-WI State Director Eric Bott issued the following statement:
“We applaud our Assembly members for their commitment to improving health care for all Wisconsinites by expanding access to quality, affordable care through supporting a patient-centered system. The direct primary care model will help address Wisconsin’s growing doctor shortage and make it easier for patients to receive the care they need, when they need it.”
“In addition, we are excited to see the legislature refocus our criminal justice system by acknowledging and combating the root cause of addiction that entangles many Wisconsinites. Extending Good Samaritan protections for those suffering from addition and expanding mental health treatment options will go a long way to make Wisconsin’s criminal justice system restorative and focused on improving lives.”
