Jul 29, 2024 by AFP

AUSTIN, TX—Today Americans for Prosperity (AFP) and its sister organization The LIBRE Initiative announced two new leadership positions in their Texas chapters.

Raul Espinoza, the current Strategic Director for The LIBRE Initiative-Texas, is transitioning to a new role as the Deputy State Director for AFP-Texas, where he will help oversee the chapter’s expansive grassroots operations across the Lone Star State. Stepping into the strategic director role is Jorge Martinez, who currently serves as coalitions director for LIBRE-Texas.

I’m thrilled to take on this exciting new opportunity to help shape a brighter future for all Texans. This year, we have the potential to make a lasting impact on Texas’ public policy and secure a legacy of freedom and prosperity for the Lone Star State,” Espinoza said following the announcement.

Espinoza has over a decade of experience in Texas public policy, including numerous state and federal campaigns and a five-session stint working on energy and tax policy in the Texas House of Representatives. He is a first-generation college graduate who earned his B.A. in political science from Baylor University.

Martinez is a prominent political analyst and regular contributor to national Spanish-language media outlets. He holds a B.A. in Communication from California State University-Fresno, and an M.A. in Public Administration from California Baptist University.

After 12 years with The LIBRE Initiative, I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact of our work in Texas, and it’s an honor to move into this new role leading the state’s largest and most effective Hispanic grassroots organization. Like many, I moved to Texas seeking the economic freedom it offers, and 10 years later, I am more motivated than ever to help all Texans rise and prosper,” said Martinez.

Together, AFP-TX and The LIBRE Initiative-Texas form the largest grassroots advocacy organization in Texas, with five offices across the state and a growing network of over 175,000 activists fighting for opportunity and prosperity.
