The House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Work and Welfare held a hearing today on “Welfare Reform at 30: Restoring the Promise of Work and Personal Responsibility in Federal Welfare Programs.”
We submitted a letter noting the success of the 1996 reforms and the program integrity measures in the Working Families Tax Cuts Act. We also recommend doing more to let states innovate on safety net program design and empowering all members of Congress to coordinate and otherwise manage federal activities.
