ST. PAUL, MN – Americans for Prosperity-Minnesota (AFP-MN) today hosted Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka for a legislative preview. Sen. Gazelka and AFP-MN State Director Jason Flohrs discussed the state’s budget, Covid-19 response, the governor’s emergency powers and tax increases, and more.

Senator Paul Gazelka said this about Governor Walz’s plans to increase a variety of taxes:

“We’ve drawn a line in the sand that we’re not going to do any of the tax increases. That’s off the table as far as I’m concerned.”

AFP-MN State Director Jason Flohrs issued the following statement:

“Thank you to Sen. Gazelka for joining us to talk about the need to prioritize funding and not force tax hikes on the backs of struggling families and small businesses. Now is the worst time to dig deeper into Minnesotans’ pockets. We look forward to working with Senator Gazelka and others to ensure Minnesotans don’t have to face even higher tax burdens that will slow economic recovery and make it harder for families to get through this pandemic.”
