House Passes Bill Removing Barriers on Alcohol Sales, Delivery

COLUMBIA, SC – Americans for Prosperity-South Carolina (AFP-SC) today commended lawmakers for passing H. 3772 and H. 3575, bills that allow curbside pickups and delivery of beer and wine. The bills now head to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

AFP-SC State Director Andrew Yates issued the following statement:

“South Carolinians want these Prohibition-era regulations off the books. COVID-19 has shown us these rules and regulations around alcohol sales are not necessary to protect the public. If it’s safe to remove these barriers during a pandemic, they should be removed permanently. We thank the House for passing these bills and removing unnecessary barriers for small businesses and restaurants, and we urge the Senate to pass these bills.”
