AFP-AZ Praises Senate Vote on Housing Affordability

Phoenix, Arizona—Today the Arizona State Senate passed SB 1229, a bill to remove government barriers that increase the cost of housing in Arizona.

Americans for Prosperity-Arizona (AFP-AZ) supported the bill. AFP-AZ Deputy State Director Jared Gorshe issued the following statement after the vote:

“Owning a home is a quintessential part of the American Dream. The Arizona Senate today took an important step toward helping Arizonans actualize that dream by moving to remove unnecessary regulations that discourage builders from breaking ground on new homes in the Copper State.

“AFP-AZ thanks Sen. Bolick for tireless work championing affordability and efficiency in Arizona’s housing sector. AFP-AZ activists will continue to reach out to their lawmakers in the Arizona House to ensure the bill makes it through the chamber and to Governor Hobbs’ desk.”
