Phoenix, Arizona—Today the Arizona State Senate passed SB 1627, which restores transparency and accountability to state regulatory agencies by requiring agency rules and guidance to be visible to the public.
Introduced by Sen. Shawnna Bolick, this legislation restores transparency first implemented by the first Trump Administration that was overturned by President Biden.
Americans for Prosperity-Arizona (AFP-AZ) supported the bill and Deputy State Director Jared Gorshe issued the following statement after the Senate vote:
“Thanks to Senator Bolick’s leadership and support from Senate Republicans, Arizona is one step closer to restoring transparency to Arizona’s regulatory bodies.
“We know that sunshine is the best disinfectant, and Arizonans deserve to have easy access to the rules and guidance coming from state agencies. We look forward to continuing our support for this bill in the House and educating Arizonans about the need for more transparency and accountability when it comes to regulations.”
