AFP Applauds House Ways & Means Committee Ahead of Markup
Washington, DC—Today Americans for Prosperity (AFP), the nation’s premiere grassroots organization, commended the House Ways & Means Committee on the legislative text released yesterday, which permanently extends key provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), while also eliminating significant wasteful spending and crony giveaways from the Biden administration.
AFP Chief Government Affairs Officer Brent Gardner recognized the hard work of the committee:
“We are encouraged by the progress members of the House Ways & Means Committee have made in many areas of the proposed extension the Trump tax cuts. This bill represents meaningful progress, providing much-needed certainty to hardworking taxpayers and job creators, addressing Biden-era corporate welfare for progressive special interests, and empowering patients with more personal options.
“Since last year, AFP’s activists have been vocal about preventing the largest tax hike in history. It is encouraging to see that Congress is listening and is moving to permanently enshrine the Trump tax cuts into the tax code. AFP will continue to educate voters and encourage them to voice support to their elected lawmakers to ensure strong, pro-growth policy goes to the White House for President Trump’s signature.
