Criminal Justice Task Force Report Shows Need for Further Reforms

Grassroots group praises work on criminal justice reform, encourages Governor Lee and the legislature to push for comprehensive criminal justice reforms

NASHVILLE, TN – Following the release of the criminal justice investment task force created by Governor Lee, Americans for Prosperity-Tennessee (AFP-TN) State Director Tori Venable issued the following statement:

“The recommendations in Gov. Lee’s criminal justice task force report shows we can continue to improve Tennessee’s justice system. These changes are needed to make our justice system smart on crime and soft on taxpayers. Our state has an opportunity to be a leader on justice reforms, showing the rest of the nation the Tennessee way. We encourage Governor Lee and lawmakers to build on this momentum and follow through with recommendations for comprehensive criminal justice reforms.
