Merrillville, IN – Yesterday, in addition to Tax Day events across the state, Americans for Prosperity-IN (AFP-IN) held a protest outside Representative Frank Mrvan’s Office in response to his opposition to extending the pro-growth tax policies of the 2017 Trump tax cuts.
At the protest, AFP-IN activists urged Rep. Mrvan to support the extension of the 2017 Trump tax cuts with billboard trucks, highlighting how a failure to renew the legislation could on average increase an Indiana family’s federal tax bill by over $1800.
The protest and the events in Fort Wayne, Hamilton County, and Southern Indiana were part of AFP’s national “Protect Prosperity” campaign, which is focused on urging Congress to protect families and businesses across the country from crippling tax hikes by renewing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act this year.
AFP-IN State Director Josh Webb released the following statement:
“Since Trump’s tax cuts were passed in 2017, our economy in Indiana has been able to thrive. Opposing these tax cuts is in no one’s best interest—it will only hurt hardworking Indiana families and the businesses who are still struggling after years of Bidenomics.
“Instead of opposing the tax cuts that have powered prosperity across the state, AFP urges Rep. Mrvan to change course and support renewing Trump’s tax cuts to protect Hoosiers from looming tax hikes at the end of this year.”
