Tony Corsi: The Grassroots Activist Who Donates Every Dollar He Earns

Jan 24, 2025 by AFP

When Pennsylvania resident Tony Corsi began as an activist with Americans for Prosperity (AFP) in 2024, he had no idea that his part-time role would lead him to donate thousands of dollars to causes close to his heart.

Tony spent years searching for a way to serve his community. When the pandemic hit his community’s economy and school system hard, Tony decided to roll up his sleeves and look for opportunities to get involved.

In the summer of 2024, he connected with AFP where he developed the skills to be a catalyst for change. Tony donates every dollar he earns from his paycheck to charitable organizations that make a big impact. Tony’s dedication to civic duty and giving back was so contagious that his friends and neighbors joined his efforts and volunteered alongside him.

Tony Corsi’s Call to Action

As a student at Kent State University during the Vietnam War, Tony watched many of his friends and peers travel overseas to answer the call to serve. Although he was never personally drafted, the experience shaped Tony’s focus on civic responsibility. Tony began looking for an outlet to fulfill his need to serve and sought out ways to plug himself into his community.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, the disastrous economic policies that followed brought inflation and economic instability, crushing countless households and small businesses in his community. Moreover, he saw how public schools were failing to teach kids basic reading, writing, and math skills.

He knew that a nation can’t thrive without economic prosperity and an education system that empowers all students to reach their fullest potential, so he decided to do something about it.

Tony Find His Purpose with Americans for Prosperity

In July of 2024, Tony saw an AFP career flyer depicting AFP’s commitment to equipping Americans with the tools and training to have meaningful conversations with voters and mobilize the grassroots to enact change. Seeing how AFP was creating a pathway for citizens to transform their concerns into action, Tony felt instant alignment with AFP’s mission and reached out to offer help.

Tony hit the ground running. He canvassed local neighborhoods, went door-to-door to share his personal story, and talked to residents about the issues that most impacted them. At the end of every conversation, Tony would say to residents, “I’ll see you at the polls,” reminding them that the ballot box was the most effective way to bring change and use your voice.

AFP equipped Tony with the grassroots mobilization skills needed to talk with constituents about the important issues that impact them and help them reach their legislators. This motivated him to expand his involvement to include participation in phone banking events, the National Day of Action, and drive voter engagement efforts.

Although Tony has only been with AFP briefly, he’s become a well-known activist in his community. His personal commitment to civic duty inspired his 73-year-old neighbor to vote for the first time in his life. Additionally, with his paychecks Tony is able to greater his impact by donating to charities that help injured service members, support first responders, and fight childhood cancer.

“I believe that when people like Tony get involved, they truly change the trajectory of our country,” emphasizes AFP-PA Grassroots Engagement Director Isabella Russo.

Thanks to AFP, Tony was able to find a community of people who matched his dedication to fulfilling their civic responsibility and standing up for what they believe. AFP gave Tony a platform to amplify his voice and drive the change he had always desired.

AFP is not stopping there, they are recruiting dedicated Americans to get involved in states across the country. Join forces with AFP today!
