Hosts first of two bootcamps to develop engagement skills, educate on policy goals

MERIDIAN, MS — Yesterday, Americans for Prosperity – Mississippi (AFP-MS) hosted the first of two bootcamps for grassroot activists. The second bootcamp is next Tuesday, September 20th. The bootcamps are focused on AFP as an organization as well as their main policy objectives of increasing health care choices, deregulation, and expanding educational opportunities.

AFP-MS State Director Starla Brown released the following statement:

“Our main goal is to ensure Mississippi is the best place to work, live, and raise a family. For us, that means creating more choices in health care and education, and cutting the government red tape that holds back opportunity. These bootcamps are a way to engage our fellow Mississppians and empower them to take action. Our first meeting was a success, and we are looking forward to the second bootcamp.”

Over the course of the bootcamps, the following topics will be covered:

1. AFP’s Vision of a Better Mississippi
2. Healthcare: Certificate of Need & the Personal Option
3. Regulatory Sandbox: Innovative Deregulation
4. Foundational Education: Expanding Opportunity
