Know Your Rights – AFPF-MN Hosts Worker Freedom Events

Sep 24, 2019 by AFP

Did you know that last year the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on a worker freedom case that impacted every single teacher in America? Until the Supreme Court decision, government workers in many states would have their hard-earned money deducted for union dues each paycheck, even if they didn’t want to be a part of the union.

Since the Janus case, more and more workers have discovered that they can exercise their First Amendment rights recognized by the Supreme Court. However, many workers aren’t aware of what rights they have when entering the public sector.

The opt-out period for union membership closes on September 30th for teachers in Minnesota, and Americans for Prosperity Foundation is here to help educate you on this important issue. Join a community of educators exercising their freedom of choice and get the answers you need. AFPF-MN is hosting three events across the state on this important issue.

Come learn about the opportunity this Supreme Court decision presents for teachers to make the best choice for themselves and their families!

And don’t forget to check out EducatedTeachersMN.com for more information about your right to opt out of your teacher’s union membership before Sept. 30.
