State constitution amendment enshrining right-to-work laws approved by voters
NASHVILLE, TN — Americans for Prosperity – Tennessee (AFP-TN) today praised voters for approving Amendment 1, a state constitutional amendment to protect Tennessee’s status as a right-to-work state.
AFP-TN Deputy State Director James Amundsen released the following statement:
“As a right-to-work state, Tennessee has enjoyed higher employment rates, faster wage growth, and lower government dependency, compared to union-heavy states. By approving Amendment 1, Tennessee voters have chosen to protect workers over union bosses. This should be a strong signal to Congress and activist judges who try to impose the will of Washington, D.C., on Tennessee.”
Amundsen wrote an op-ed in The Tennessean in October, urging passage of Amendment 1.
