The short documentary features key legislators and constituents who worked with AFP-SC to unleash access in health care

COLUMBIA, SC—Americans for Prosperity-South Carolina (AFP-SC) was an early supporter of repealing onerous Certificate of Need (CoN) regulations that prevented competition and better access to health care in the Palmetto State. AFP-SC championed the legislation through testifying and lobbying in support of the measure that would dramatically improve South Carolinians’ options in the health care market.

In the newly released documentary, AFP-SC highlights real-life stories of those who benefited from repealing CoN:

In addition to the inspiring stories from South Carolinians who AFP-SC equipped to take on the issue of CoN at the grassroots level such as well-known radio host Joey Hudson, State Senator Wes Climer commended the work of AFP-SC and others stating, “Certificate of Need would not have been repealed if AFP had not played a leading role in our efforts.”

AFP-SC State Director, Candace Carroll, recently joined The Business of America podcast to discuss the model South Carolina has set for states around the nation to repeal CoN laws that operate as a permission slip for health care providers to stand up critical services such as MRI centers among other life-saving medical resources.
