Americans for Prosperity-Illinois Names Jason Heffley State Director

SPRINGFIELD, IL—Americans for Prosperity-Illinois (AFP-IL) today announced Jason Heffley as its next state director ahead of Wednesday’s critical state budget address.  The state must address a huge budget deficit while putting policies in place to lead Illinois out of this pandemic.

“Illinois has suffered from decades of poor public policy and now finds itself ranking near the bottom of every key category that would give its citizens reason to hope for a successful recovery from this pandemic.  Last year’s overwhelmingly successful grassroots movement to defeat the proposed graduated income tax shows that Illinoisans are tired of the endless proposals that create barriers to economic opportunity and are ready for real solutions to turn our state around.  I look forward to working with Illinoisans from across the state to push transformational policy solutions that will lead us out of this pandemic and to a recovery that makes Illinois stronger than ever,” Heffley said.

Prior to joining Americans for Prosperity, Heffley spent two years as the Executive Director of the organizations that led the effort to successfully defeat the graduated income tax amendment. He previously served as the Energy and Environmental Policy Director for Governor Bruce Rauner and as the Executive Director of the Congressional Western Caucus in Washington DC.   Jason has successfully managed candidate and policy campaigns at the local, congressional, and statewide level across several states over the past two decades.

Heffley earned his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and his law degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.   Born and raised in Illinois, Jason now lives in Springfield with his wife and three children.
