Americans for Prosperity Applauds Governor Signature On Bill to Lower State Income Tax
Calls it a “bold first step” towards full elimination of the state income tax
JACKSON, Miss. – Americans for Prosperity – Mississippi (AFP-MS) today thanked Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves for signing HB 531, Mississippi Tax Freedom Act of 2022 which would reduce the state income tax. AFP-MS has advocated for a responsible solution to eliminate the state income tax.
AFP-MS State Director Starla Brown released the following statement:
“While this bill falls short of a full elimination of the state income tax, Governor Reeves has taken a bold first step towards letting Mississippians keep more of their hard-earned money. With this action, our state enters a new era of growth, opportunity, and success.”
Brown recently wrote an op-ed in Y’all Politics calling for a full elimination of the state income tax.
