Bill would Enshrine Free Speech Rights on New Hampshire Campuses

Manchester, New Hampshire–Today the New Hampshire House of Representatives passed H.B. 1305, a bill that would ensure that freedom of speech is protected on New Hampshire’s public college campuses.

Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) Deputy State Director Sarah Scott issued the following statement after the bill’s passage:

“AFP-NH thanks the bipartisan group of lawmakers who came together today to reaffirm free speech on public college campuses. Free speech and free inquiry are vital to the mission of our public institutions of higher education. This is a signal to students from the Granite State and beyond that New Hampshire’s higher education system prizes critical thinking and deep learning. We urge the New Hampshire Senate to take up this bill and send it to Governor Sununu for his signature.”
