Brandon, MS – As we wait to see if a tentative agreement between the UAW and Ford advances and leads to deals ending the strikes at GM and Stellantis facilities, Americans for Prosperity-Mississippi State Director Starla Brown released the following statement:
“President Biden’s reckless spending and failed ‘Bidenomics’ agenda have emboldened big union leaders who know he will stand with them instead of American auto workers.
“Across the country there are more than 40,000 auto workers, including 87 at the Brandon GM facility, who are out of a job because big union bosses are putting politics over what’s in the best interests of their members.
“It’s time for President Biden to call on UAW President Shawn Fain to end this counterproductive strike, getting auto workers back on the job in distribution centers and assembly plants in Mississippi. Too many Americans have already lost their jobs as a direct result of this misguided campaign, this is not the time to exacerbate the problem.”
