This week in Florida, certificate of need repeal legislation made strides in the Senate as SB 1712 passed with a 10-0 vote in the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services. The unanimous support of this bill is a step towards repealing Certificate of Need laws that reinforce artificial barriers between patients and quality health care options.
On Thursday, the House passed HB 23, related to telehealth, with bipartisan support, and now we look toward the Senate to pass similar legislation. Medical innovations, like telehealth, will expand access to potentially lifesaving products and services, improving the lives of all Floridians.
