Phoenix, Arizona—Today President Biden and Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo visited Phoenix to unveil a multi-billion-dollar government grant to a private company to build a microchip facility in Arizona. The taxpayer funded incentives are part of the CHIPS and Science Act passed by Congress and signed into law by President Biden in 2022.
Americans for Prosperity-Arizona (AFP-AZ) State Director Stephen Shadegg issued the following statement:
“The CHIPS Act is just another plank in the President’s failed ‘Bidenomics’ platform.
“The most offensive part of today’s visit by President Biden and Secretary Raimondo is the cronyism involved. Picking winners and losers with taxpayer funds isn’t the way to build prosperity. Instead Washington should empower real competition and growth by making America the best place to invest and innovate, with low taxes, fewer regulations, and freer markets.”
