Americans for Prosperity-Nebraska Applauds Advancement of Education Tax Credits, Opportunity Scholarships

LINCOLN, Neb. – Americans for Prosperity-Nebraska (AFP-NE) today thanks lawmakers for advancing LB 753, Opportunity Scholarships Act, to Select File. LB 753 will increase choice in education for Nebraska families by enacting a tax credit for donations to nonprofit scholarship granting institutions.

AFP-NE State Director Jessica Shelburn released the following statement:

“Today, with the advancement of the Opportunity Scholarships Act, students are front and center in Nebraska. This commonsense legislation allows students to access the education that best fits their needs, allowing them to discover, develop, and apply their unique talents. AFP-NE thanks lawmakers for participating in thoughtful debate and discussion surrounding this crucial bill that tackles barriers standing in the way of our children’s education. We encourage the Legislature to continue to fight for students and families in Nebraska.”
