Americans for Prosperity-Michigan Backs Five Candidates for State House

LANSING, Mich. – Americans for Prosperity- Michigan (AFP-MI) today announced its endorsement of five candidates running for Michigan State House: Martha Ptashnik, Ryan Berman, Bronwyn Haltom, Annette Glenn and John Roth. The group said all five candidates earned the support of AFP-MI for being leaders on policy issues that touch on some of Michigan’s toughest challenges. Annie Patnaude, state director for AFP-MI, issued the following statement.

“In times like these we need principled, thoughtful leadership—these individuals rise to meet that standard. Each has demonstrated their commitment to keep taxes low so Michigan families can keep more of their hard-earned money, reduce excessive regulations that stand in the way of fulfilling work, and expand access to quality and affordable healthcare.

“We are pleased to announce our support for these candidates. They will fight to ensure Michiganders have every opportunity to live their American dream in our state. Our activists have already hit the ground running to make sure these policy champions are elected to the state house.”

Martha Ptashnik, MI-19
As a former teacher, Martha Ptashnik understands how important it is to make sure every child has the opportunity to pursue the education that fits their unique needs. She plans to fight for local control of education, provide more options for Michigan parents, and to equip our children with the necessary skills to be successful. Martha is also a strong supporter of increasing access to health care while making sure decisions are made between a patient and their healthcare provider.

Ryan Berman, MI-39
Representative Ryan Berman has a track record of working to keep taxes low to ensure more Michigan families can keep more of their hard-earned money. Additionally, Representative Berman has been a strong supporter of increasing access to healthcare while making sure decisions are made between a patient and their healthcare provider. He supports increasing access to telemedicine to allow patients to see their doctors remotely.

Bronwyn Haltom, MI-61
Bronwyn Haltom is a strong supporter of keeping taxes low to ensure more Michigan families can keep more of what they earn. She also wants to reduce the red tape that limits crucial job creation in Michigan. Bronwyn will work to expand access to education for families in Michigan so that every child can access the education that fits their needs.

Annette Glenn, MI-98
Representative Glenn is a strong supporter of keeping taxes low to ensure more Michiganders can keep more of their hard-earned paychecks. She is also a strong advocate to reducing excessive red tape that keeps many Michiganders from finding fulfilling work. While serving on the Appropriations Subcommittee for Health and Human Services, Annette fought to expand affordable and timely access to healthcare by eliminating unnecessary regulations and allowing patients and doctors more freedom when discussing their healthcare.

John Roth, MI-104
As a small business owner, John knows how important it is to keep taxes low so that hard working families have more money in their pockets each month. John Roth is dedicated to increasing access to healthcare while making sure decisions are made between a patient and their healthcare provider. He also supports increasing access to telemedicine to allow patients to see their doctors from the safety of their homes.
