ATLANTA, GA – Today, following Governor Brian Kemp’s State of the State Address, Americans for Prosperity – Georgia (AFP-GA) is applauding the Governor on his commitment to education reform and the future of Georgia’s students.
AFP-GA State Director Tony West released the following statement:
“Every student – regardless of their family’s zip code or resources – deserves access to the best choices and educational opportunities. We thank Governor Kemp for highlighting education freedom in today’s address and making it a priority for his administration this legislative session. We echo the Governor’s call for all parties to come to the table and pass a strong education reform bill that puts students and families first. We look forward to working with our elected leaders in the General Assembly to make this a reality.
“Last session, a strong school choice bill, SB 233, the Georgia Promise Scholarship, was narrowly defeated. This session we remain committed to being an influential voice at the Capitol and in communities across the state educating Georgians how their elected leaders are voting on education legislation.”
