Mar 12, 2021 by AFP

RALEIGH, NC— Americans for Prosperity-North Carolina (AFP-NC) today announced its support for the SAVE Act, a bill that will expand access to quality, affordable health care across the Tar Heel State. The grassroots group joined a broad coalition of bipartisan partners in support of this pivotal reform– including medical professional, patient advocacy, and legislative leaders.

AFP-NC State Director Chris McCoy issued the following statement:

“Americans for Prosperity is excited to support the SAVE Act—which will be a pivotal step toward greater access to better quality health care that North Carolina families can afford. By removing red tape to allow highly trained, highly qualified advanced registered nurse practitioners to treat patients to their fullest, we can make major steps toward improving public health and meeting the needs of all North Carolinians.”

Background:

The coalition joined together in a press conference following the introduction of the SAVE Act in both chambers of the legislature: SB 249 and HB 277. Coalition members include: North Carolina Nurses Association, AARP North Carolina, March of Dimes, NC Rural Center, Americans for Tax Reform, the LIBRE Initiative, Concerned Veterans for America, The John Locke Foundation, NC Citizens for Public Health, and others.
