Americans for Prosperity Applauds Governor Lee’s Education Proposal

NASHVILLE, TN –– Americans for Prosperity – Tennessee (AFP-TN) today applauded Governor Bill Lee and Education Commissioner Penny Schwinn’s new student-based funding formula, the Tennessee Investment in Student Achievement formula (TISA) Act. The bill would update how Tennessee funds public schools for the first time in 30 years.

AFP-TN State Director Tori Venable released the following statement:

“Today’s announcement is welcome news for Tennessee families. Shifting the focus to students and better utilizing tax dollars is in the best interest of everyone in the Volunteer State. We look forward to working with the legislature to pass TISA to ensure all our students are on a path to success.”
